Steamed green beans are so easy to make, especially in the microwave. I like to use this recipe on nights when I need a simple side dish or appetizer. It only takes some water and about 10 minutes in the microwave to get the perfect steamed green beans.
Steamed green beans can be prepared in so many different ways and they are healthy, which is why I love this recipe.

Ingredients
- 1 lb green beans
- 1 cup of water
- 1 tbsp butter
- Salt & pepper (optional)
How to Steam Green Beans in the Microwave – Step by Step
- Place green beans and water in a microwave safe dish
- Cover with plate and microwave on high for 6-7 minutes, or until tender
- Drain
- Transfer to a serving dish, stir in butter, sprinkle with salt and pepper
- Enjoy!
How to Make Green Beans Taste Better
The most common way to season green beans is to melt butter on top of them, stir in some garlic, and sprinkle with salt and pepper! You could also add in a splash of lemon juice if you are looking for a more acidic taste.
Another way you could season your green beans is by tossing them in a bit of olive oil, squeezing some lemon juice on top, and sprinkling with feta cheese.

How to Store Green Beans
