  • Mushrooms
  • Olive oil
  • Minced garlic
  • Dried or fresh herbs of your choosing
  • Lemon or lime
  • Salt & pepper to taste

How To Sauté Mushrooms – Step by Step

  1. Clean mushrooms with a damp paper towel. It is important to keep the mushrooms dry so they don’t absorb water. If they absorb water they will take longer to cook.
  2. Heat olive oil over medium heat while you slice the mushrooms. It does not matter what size you cut them into. However, make sure they are all similar in size so they cook evenly.
  3. Add into pan and spread out evenly. Cook until browned on one side (about 4 minutes), toss and cook until the opposite side is browned (additional 4 minutes)
  4. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste

Ways to Make Mushrooms Taste Better

To make mushrooms taste better, you can add in any herb that you like before you toss your mushrooms. Cook for an additional 4 minutes or until mushrooms are browned and herb becomes fragrant.

When you start cooking mushrooms, add a tablespoon of minced garlic and cook the mushrooms as instructed. Remove from heat and add a squeeze of lemon juice from half a lemon.
